My husband (71) was diagnosed in stage IV about a year ago with all lymph nodes from neck to groin as cancerous plus brain mets. He took 9 immunotherapy treatments and then 5 SRS sessions. His doctor has now stopped the immunotherapy and started him on Braftovi and Mektovi. We’re trying to understand what this means for his cancer journey. Brian has Stage 3b metastatic melanoma with the BRAF mutation, diagnosed August of 2023. Keytruda and the Ipi/Nivo infusions were not effective. His cancer has spread from superficial lesions on his scalp (both removed with clear margins) to the liver. Since August of 2024 it has now spread extensively in the liver as well as to both lungs, an adrenal gland, soft tissue, and several bones.
