It sounds like your brother is experiencing changes in taste, which can be a side effect of cancer treatments like Braftovi (encorafenib). Here are a few tips that might help improve his experience with food:

1. Enhance Flavors: Use seasonings such as herbs, spices, and lemon juice to add flavor to meals without adding sodium.
2. Try Different Textures: Sometimes, mixing up the textures can make food more appealing. Include soft, creamy, or crunchy foods in his diet.
3. Serve Food Cold or at Room Temperature: Sometimes, cold food is more palatable as it has less aroma than hot food, which might be beneficial if the smell of food is off-putting.
4. Maintain Oral Hygiene: Keeping the mouth clean can help with taste issues. Encourage him to brush his teeth regularly and to rinse his mouth before eating.
5. Consult a Dietitian: A professional can provide personalized advice and meal plans that cater to his specific needs and preferences.

It's also important to discuss these symptoms with his healthcare provider, as they can offer additional guidance and check if any adjustments to his treatment are necessary.

I take Braftovi and Mektovi- I actually did not realize this was a side effect. I have noticed taste changes as well, but I thought it was from Covid that I had a couple years ago. It is probably from the BRAF. It does stink!
