Hi Nat, I took Odivo (similar to Keytruda) and I have experienced some hair loss, but not so much that I need a hat. I know that one of the side effects of immunotherapy is dry skin, and I wonder if some of the hair loss is from the skin dryness. Speak with your Doctor to see if they can slow your hair loss.

Hair loss is a common side effect for many undergoing cancer treatments, including chemotherapy and targeted therapies. While Keytruda (Pembrolizumab) itself is not specifically noted for causing hair loss, it can be taken alongside other treatments that do. Here are some points to consider:

- Chemotherapy and Targeted Therapies: These treatments can cause hair loss, typically within two to four weeks of starting chemotherapy or three to 15 weeks for targeted therapies.
- Radiation Therapy: Can also cause hair loss, but usually only in the area being treated.
- Scalp Sensitivity: People undergoing chemo often report that their scalp becomes more sensitive or painful.

If hair loss is significant, using a hat or wig can be a helpful way to manage this side effect. It's important to discuss any side effects with your cancer care team to get personalized advice and support.
