A full body exam for diagnosing melanoma involves a thorough check of your skin by a doctor. Here’s what to expect:

- Medical History: Your doctor will ask about your personal and family history of melanoma and other skin cancers. They will also inquire about your history of sunburns or tanning bed use.
- Physical Examination: The doctor will examine your skin, noting the shape, size, color, and surrounding skin of any suspicious spots or moles. They will check for any pain, itching, or bleeding around these areas.
- Lymph Node Check: The doctor may feel for nearby lymph nodes, especially in the underarms, neck, and groin, to see if they are larger than normal, which could indicate the spread of melanoma.

This comprehensive approach helps in identifying any potential signs of melanoma early.
