Hey, Just Finished My First Round Of Ipi/nivo. Noticed Swelling On My Left Side Only Around My Waist And Foot. Anyone Experience This?

Hi David,
I did develop arthritis in my ankles after taking Ipi/Nivo. This is a possible side effect of immunotherapy. The combination of 2 immunotherapy drugs increases the risk of this happening. I posted my questions here in the QA.

Swelling on one side of the body, especially around the waist and foot, could be related to lymphedema. Lymphedema is a common complication after lymph node removal or radiation therapy, which can cause fluid and fat buildup in the affected area. Since you mentioned the swelling is on the same side as your axillary lymph node tumor, it is possible that the lymph node removal or treatment in that area is contributing to the swelling.

Symptoms of lymphedema to look out for include:
- New swelling
- Numbness or tingling
- Heaviness in the affected limb

It's important to discuss these symptoms with your healthcare provider to get appropriate management and support.
