I had a mole on my back which we were "watching." It didn't look bad. Then, being clumsy, I scraped my back on the corner of my bedroom wall. It pulled off and bled and wouldn't heal so I went to the dermatologist where the lab said it was melanoma. I really wasn't surprised. To this day, I think my father pushed me into the wall from up above so I would get it checked. He had just been diagnosed when he passed in 2019, not of the melanoma though.

In the summer of 2022 I noticed a lump on the inside of my arm above the elbow. I see a dermatologist regularly as I am fair skinned and have had several basal cell cancers removed. I had an appointment in a few months so I decided to wait for my appointment. The doctor thought that it could be a cyst, and ordered an ultrasound. Ultrasound suggested it was a cyst so surgery to remove it was scheduled as a non-urgent procedure. At the time of surgery (Mohs), biopsy showed melanoma. Had wide-area-excision and 1 year of Novimulab. Now, 3 months later PET scan showed a new melanoma. I see the Doctor on Monday and will find out what treatment is needed... I know it means more immunotherapy and possible surgery but lack the details. Staying positive...

I was diagnosed with melanoma in situ in April 2023. Two years before being dx. It look like a brown age spot. I was told it was sun damage. I noticed it seemed to be getting darker in color and spreading from left cheek to closer to my eye. That's when they did a biopsy. I had mohs surgery with a plastic reconstruction, follow by imiquimod treatment. I was just upset. Why did it have to be on my face and close to my eye. Why not on my leg, arm or any other place. Recently had two biopsies done on cheek and lower eyelid. Waiting for results.

I am sorry. Hopefully a treatment plan is in the works/has been started?

My husband was diagnosed March of 2024. He has melanoma that's has matastisized to his brain (2 masses), his lungs (3 masses), and his adrenal glands. We came to the ER cause I thought he had a stroke (slurred speech, stumbling, confusion, and memory loss. That's when our whole world turned upside down. We are both scared to death.
